Pastor's Corner

Certainly one of the most important days of the year is past: Mother’s Day. Mothers are truly special to us! But what about fathers? The Bible tells us fathers are very important to family life. They are to be the spiritual leaders in following God.

It says in Ephesians 6:4, “And fathers do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” The temptation for a father is to control, demand, take charge, expect too much, and bark louder than the kids. By using his own anger, he may try to achieve the results he wants. But James says, “The anger of man cannot achieve the righteousness of God.”

Instead of treating children harshly, fathers are to correct with gentleness and consistency. And the purpose is to instruct children about the Lord and obedience to Him. Aren't you glad God doesn't beat the truth into us? He loves us and encourages us to follow Him.

Let's look forward to Father's Day, June 15th, and pray for fathers in our church to follow God closely. And don’t forget Vacation Bible School, June 2-6. Get kids signed up soon!

 Have a blessed day!

The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The opposite of anxiety is prayer with thanksgiving. These two things, when working together, can bring peace in the midst of difficulty. And that peace cannot be fully understood. It is beyond human understanding, but you know you have it. Why not choose prayer with thanks to God this month? It will give you more of God’s peace.
Our Thanksgiving Eve service will be Wednesday, November 27th. We will meet at 6:30pm and have a time of testimonies about what we are thankful for!

Welcome to Friendship Community Church of Ahwatukee

Life is relationships ...with family, with friends, with co-workers. When your relationships are good, life is rich. When they are strained, life can be painful.

The most important thing you and I can do is to build loving relationships with God and each other. But many of us feel a void in this area when our lives pull us in so many other directions.

There is help.

Friendship Community Church exists to help you build the loving relationships that make life meaningful and complete. Here the bonds of friendship overcome the differences that keep us apart. People from diverse backgrounds who come into a friendship with Jesus Christ support each other in learning to live a new kind of life. A love-focused life. You'll find the excitement of love-focused relationships in the youth groups, the children's ministry, and many adult small groups and activities. You'll find all ages, singles, couples, and seniors becoming family to one another, caring for each other's needs.

So what do you say?

No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to be friends with you as you take the next step. Come home to an accepting family where you can get involved at a pace that is comfortable to you. We've been praying for you already and can't wait to meet you.

Life is Relationships.
